Alameda County and vicinity has a number of ways to get outdoors. In addition to
the municipal parks, the East Bay region boasts an impressive network of
regional parks. Covering more than 96,000 acres, these parks are under the
auspices of the East Bay Regional Park District.
Just over the border in Contra Costa County, Mt.
Diablo State Park offers hiking, horesback riding, bike trails, and camping,
and fantastic views for miles in every direction from its namesake's 3,849 foot
peak.
